๐ŸŽ This simple recipe uses natural ingredients, offering a fun, non-toxic craft that’s safe for all ages and creates beautifully fragrant keepsakes.

  • Total Time: 2 hours 15 minutes
  • Yield: 20 to 40 ornaments

Ingredients

– 1 cup Unsweetened applesauce Binds the dough

– 1 to 1 1/4 cup Ground cinnamon Provides scent and structure

– 1 tablespoon Ground cloves (optional) Enhances aroma

Instructions

1-Preheat the oven to 200ยฐF and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to avoid sticking.

2-In a bowl, mix 1 cup unsweetened applesauce, 1 to 1 1/4 cup ground cinnamon, and 1 tablespoon ground cloves if using, until a slightly sticky dough forms that holds its shape. Adjust with more cinnamon or applesauce as needed.

3-Sprinkle ground cinnamon on a clean surface, place the dough on it, and sprinkle more on top to prevent sticking.

4-Roll the dough out to about 1/4 inch thickness, dusting with cinnamon as needed.

5-Cut into shapes using cookie cutters or a sharp knife, and use a skewer to poke a hole for hanging.

6-Place the cut shapes on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they do not touch.

7-Bake for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until hard.

8-Once cooled, thread ribbon or string through the holes and hang on the tree.
