🍞 Cinnamon Sugar Donut Bread features soft, sweet layers with a spiced sugar coating that captures the flavor of classic sugar donuts.
🍽️ This moist and tender quick bread is perfect for breakfast, brunch, dessert, or a delightful snack anytime.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
  • Yield: 12 slices

Ingredients

– 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour forms the base and gives structure.

– 1 Β½ cups (300 g) granulated sugar provides sweetness throughout.

– 2 teaspoons baking powder helps the bread rise for a light texture.

– Β½ teaspoon salt balances flavors and enhances the overall taste.

– 1 ΒΌ cups (306 g) whole milk adds moisture and creaminess; 2% milk works as a substitute if needed.

– 1 large egg, room temperature binds the ingredients for a tender crumb.

– 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter contributes richness; use salted butter but reduce added salt if substituting.

– 1 tablespoon vanilla extract boosts the flavor with a warm, aromatic note.

– ΒΌ cup melted unsalted butter for brushing to help the coating stick.

– Β½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar creates the sweet, crunchy topping.

– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon delivers the signature warm spice.

– Β½ teaspoon ground nutmeg adds a nutty depth that complements the cinnamon.

Instructions

1- Whisk together the dry ingredients in a large bowl: 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour, 1 Β½ cups (300 g) granulated sugar, 2 teaspoons baking powder, and Β½ teaspoon salt until well combined.

2- In a separate bowl, whisk the wet ingredients: 1 ΒΌ cups (306 g) whole milk, 1 large egg (room temperature), 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter, and 1 tablespoon vanilla extract until smooth.

3- Gently fold the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring just until mixed; the batter will be slightly runny, which is normal for this quick bread.

4- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly for uniform baking.

5- Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few crumbs and the top is golden brown.

6- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove it to a rack.

7- While still warm, brush the entire surface with ΒΌ cup melted unsalted butter, then mix Β½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, and Β½ teaspoon ground nutmeg, and sprinkle evenly over the buttered bread, turning to coat all sides.
