1 cup light brown sugar

1/4 cup golden syrup or corn syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup heavy cream

Sea salt flakes, to taste

Instructions

1-Start by preheating your oven to 350ยฐF and lining a 9ร—9-inch baking dish with parchment paper. This step makes it easy to lift out the bars later and keeps everything neat. Mix the shortbread ingredients until they form a smooth dough, then press it into the pan.

2-Bake the shortbread for about 22 minutes until the edges turn golden. While it bakes, make the caramel by heating the ingredients in a saucepan and stirring constantly. Pour this over the cooled shortbread and let it chill to set firmly.

3-Finally, prepare the ganache by melting the chocolate chips with heavy cream until smooth. Spread it over the caramel, add sea salt flakes, and chill again before slicing. The whole process takes about 10 minutes to prep, 30 minutes to cook, and 20 minutes to chill, giving you 12 tasty bars.
