πŸ”₯ Perfect for a fun appetizer or snack that’s easy to make at home and sure to impress guests.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 28 minutes
  • Yield: 15 mozzarella sticks 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1 Β½ cups (106 g) plain Panko breadcrumbs, crushed slightly with a rolling pin or mallet

Β½ teaspoon Italian seasoning

Β½ teaspoon dried parsley

ΒΌ teaspoon garlic powder

Β½ teaspoon ground black pepper

ΒΌ teaspoon table salt

2 large eggs, beaten

Β½ cup (63 g) all-purpose flour

1 lb whole milk mozzarella block or 15 whole milk string cheese sticks

Vegetable oil for frying

Marinara sauce for dipping

Instructions

1-First, crush the Panko breadcrumbs and mix them with the Italian seasoning, dried parsley, garlic powder, ground black pepper, and table salt in a shallow dish. Then, place the all-purpose flour in a separate shallow bowl and beat the eggs in another. If using a whole milk mozzarella block, cut it into 15 sticks for uniform sizes.

2-Dip each cheese stick in the flour, shaking off any excess, then coat it in the beaten eggs, letting the extra drip off. Next, fully coat in the seasoned Panko mixture and place on a wire rack over a baking sheet. Freeze the coated sticks for at least one hour to set the coating and prevent cheese from leaking.

3-For frying, heat vegetable oil to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and fry the sticks two at a time for about one minute until golden brown; drain on paper towels. For baking, preheat your oven to 415Β°F (210Β°C), spray a foil-lined baking sheet, and bake for 10-15 minutes. If air frying, set to 390Β°F (200Β°C), spray the basket, and cook for 6-8 minutes, tossing halfway. Serve warm with marinara sauce for the best experience.
