๐Ÿ‘ Refresh yourself with this naturally sweet and fragrant peach-infused iced tea that’s perfect for hot summer days
๐ŸงŠ Enjoy a homemade beverage that’s free from artificial additives and can be customized to your preferred sweetness level

  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 10 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup organic cane sugar for making peach simple syrup and providing balanced sweetness

1 cup water for creating the simple syrup base

2 ripe peaches, thinly sliced for adding fresh peach flavor and color

23 tablespoons loose leaf black tea or 34 tea bags for providing the tea base

8 cups filtered water for brewing the black tea

Instructions

1-First Step: Prepare the Peach Simple Syrup
Place 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water, and 2 thinly sliced ripe peaches in the saucepan. Heat over medium-high until it reaches a gentle boil.
Once boiling, reduce heat to low. Use a wooden spoon to lightly crush the peach slices against the side of the pan to release juices and aroma. The goal is juicy peach flavor, not a straight puree, unless you prefer a thicker syrup.
When the sugar has fully dissolved into the water and peach juices, cover the saucepan and remove it from heat. Let it steep for 25 to 30 minutes to let the peach flavor meld into the syrup.

2-Second Step: Brew the Black Tea
Bring water to a near-boil. Pour the hot water over the tea leaves or tea bags in a heatproof pitcher or teapot. If using loose leaf, use an infuser or a tea strainer for easy removal.
Steep for no more than 4 to 5 minutes. Steeping longer can cause bitterness; for looser, nuanced flavor keep it to about 3-4 minutes if using loose leaves.
Remove tea bags or strain out loose leaves, then place the brewed tea in the refrigerator to chill. Cooling the tea quickly helps preserve its brightness and prevents it from becoming dull with prolonged heat exposure.

3-Third Step: Strain and Combine
Pour the strained peach syrup into the chilled brewed tea. Start by adding 1 cup of syrup and taste, then add more to reach your preferred sweetness. Serving the syrup on the side is also a great option for guests who want to customize sweetness.
Serve the Peach Iced Tea over ice with fresh peach slices and lemon wedges if you like a citrus pop.

4-Final Step: Serving and Garnish
Fill tall glasses with ice, pour the combined tea and syrup over the ice, and float a couple of fresh peach slices on top for color and aroma. Add a sprig of mint or a thin lemon wheel for visual contrast.
