Ingredients
– 8 oz ribeye steak or a thin cut steak, about 1/2 inch thick, sliced into four pieces
– Sea salt for seasoning
– Black pepper for seasoning
– Worcestershire sauce for seasoning
– 1/4 white or yellow onion, thinly sliced
– 3 tablespoons butter, divided
– 4 eggs
– 8 slices cheddar cheese or American cheese, thinly sliced
– 4 bagels (plain, onion, or everything variety)
Instructions
1-Season the steak: Season the steak with sea salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce, then set aside.
2-Cook the onions: In a nonstick skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter and cook the sliced onion over medium heat for 9-12 minutes until caramelized.
3-Cook the steak: In another pan, melt 1 tablespoon of butter and cook the steak for about 1 minute per side until fully cooked; remove and set aside.
4-Cook the eggs: In a nonstick pan, melt the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-low heat, then gently cook the 4 eggs, folding the whites to fit the shape of the bagel; cook for about 3 minutes.
5-Finish the eggs: Flip the eggs, add a slice of cheese on top, and cook for 2-3 minutes until the eggs reach your desired doneness.
6-Toast the bagels: Toast the 4 bagels, lightly buttered if desired.
7-Assemble the sandwiches: Assemble each sandwich by layering on the bagel bottom: 1 slice of cheese, 1 piece of steak, some caramelized onions, and the egg with cheese, then top with the other half of the bagel.
