☕ Experience the bold, rich taste of authentic Vietnamese iced coffee, made with strong dark roast coffee and sweetened condensed milk.
❄️ Perfect for a refreshing, sweet pick-me-up that combines robust coffee flavor with creamy sweetness over ice.

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving

Ingredients

– 2 tablespoons ground dark roast coffee provides the strong, rich flavor essential for authentic Vietnamese coffee

– 2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk adds creamy sweetness and balances the bold coffee

– 1 cup hot water (195-205°F) used for brewing the coffee to the perfect strength

– 2 to 3 teaspoons sweetened condensed milk as specified for the base recipe to adjust sweetness

– Sufficient amount of ice cubes for the iced version to create a refreshing drink and control dilution

– Dark roast coffee beans roast them to a medium to dark level before grinding for the best results

– Hot water passed through the coffee grounds directly into the cup for brewing

Instructions

1-First, add 2 tablespoons of ground dark roast coffee into the phin and gently press it down with the filter press.

2-Pour 2 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk into your serving glass, placing 2 to 3 teaspoons as needed for the base recipe.

3-Place the phin on top of the glass, then pour a small amount of hot water (195-205°F) to bloom the coffee grounds for 20-30 seconds; this helps extract maximum flavor.

4-Slowly add the remaining hot water until the glass is filled, allowing the coffee to drip completely, which takes about 4-5 minutes as the hot water passes through the grounds directly into the cup.

5-Stir the coffee and condensed milk together, adjusting sweetness by varying the amount of condensed milk.

6-For iced coffee, add a sufficient amount of ice cubes and stir well to mix, controlling dilution by adding more or less ice as desired.

7-Serve immediately and enjoy your authentic Vietnamese coffee, with options for flavor variations like pandan paste or coconut milk stirred in at this stage.
