πŸ‰ Hydrates and refreshes with natural watermelon while providing essential vitamins A and C for immune support
πŸ‹ Enjoy a guilt-free, low-calorie summer drink that combines antioxidant-rich watermelon with zesty lime for perfect flavor balance

  • Total Time: 8 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

– 4 cups frozen diced watermelon cut into 1-inch cubes

– 2 fresh limes for garnish

– 1 cup water

– 1-2 tablespoons sweetener to taste

– 10 fresh mint leaves per serving

– 1/2 cup soda water or low/no sugar kombucha per serving

– Splash of unfiltered apple cider vinegar per serving

– Seasoned salt for rimming glasses

– Ice for serving glasses

Instructions

First Step: Prepare your glasses by elevating the experience with a seasoned salt rim. Add your chosen seasoned salt (TajΓn works beautifully) to a shallow plate. Take a lime wedge and run it around the rim of each glass, then lightly dip the rims into the salt to coat. This simple step adds such a special touch to your watermelon lime mocktails. Set the prepared glasses aside while you make the drink mixture.

Second Step: Now it’s time to blend the base. Combine your 4 cups of frozen diced watermelon cubes, the juice from the 2 fresh limes, and 1 cup of water in your blender. Blend until smooth this usually takes about 30-60 seconds, depending on your blender’s power.

3-If you prefer a sweeter mocktail, add 1-2 tablespoons of honey or agave nectar now and blend again to incorporate. (For extra fun mixing, check out my dump cake recipe for another no-cook dessert idea.)

4-For a completely smooth texture without any pulp, you can strain the puree through a mesh sieve into a pitcher. This step is optional if you enjoy a bit of texture in your drinks, feel free to skip it!

Third Step: This is the quickest approach to serving your watermelon lime mocktails. Pour the blended watermelon-lime mixture directly into your prepared, ice-filled glasses. If you’re using apple cider vinegar as an optional boost, stir in a small splash (about 1/4 teaspoon) per glass now.

Fourth Step: For a bar-quality mocktail experience, try the shaker method. This makes one serving at a time perfect for when you want to get fancy! In a cocktail shaker, muddle 1 cup of fresh or thawed watermelon with 1 ounce (about 2 tablespoons) of fresh lime juice. To release their aromatic oils, clap 10 fresh mint leaves between your hands before adding them to the shaker.

7-Add 2-3 ice cubes to the shaker and shake well for 20-30 seconds. This gets the mixture extra frothy and well-combined. Strain the mixture into one of your prepared, ice-filled glasses. If using apple cider vinegar, add a splash now and stir gently.

Fifth Step: For those who enjoy a bit of effervescence in their watermelon lime mocktails, now’s the time to top each glass with 1/2 cup of soda water or kombucha. Stir gently to combine while maintaining some of the bubbles. This step adds a delightful fizz that makes the drink feel extra special.

Final Step: Garnish each glass with a fresh lime slice and/or a sprig of mint if you’ve chosen to include this herb. Serve immediately while the watermelon lime mocktails are ice-cold for the best flavor experience.

Notes

πŸ‰ For optimal freezing, arrange watermelon cubes in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet for at least 2 hours before bagging to prevent sticking and ensure easy blending
πŸ§‚ The seasoned salt rim adds signature flavor but can be substituted with plain margarita salt or omitted if you prefer less saltiness
πŸ’ͺ Boost nutrition and add complexity by including a splash of apple cider vinegar – it aids digestion and adds a tangy depth that balances the sweetness
