๐Ÿž Start your day with a creamy, proteinโ€‘rich toast thatโ€™s ready in under ten minutes.
๐Ÿฅ„ The airy whipped ricotta adds a savoryโ€‘sweet lift, turning simple bread into a gourmet breakfast.

  • Total Time: 7 minutes
  • Yield: 2 toasts 1x

Ingredients

Scale

4 slices of sturdy bread (Italian-style, sourdough, or any rustic loaf) โ€“ about 120 g total

1 cup (approximately 240 ml or 250 g) whole-milk ricotta

1/4 cup (approximately 60 ml) heavy cream

1 tablespoon (approximately 15 ml) extra-virgin olive oil, plus a little extra for drizzling

Pinch of flaky sea salt

Instructions

1-Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a thin layer of butter to get that golden toast going.

2-Toast the bread slices in the pan until theyโ€™re golden-brown on both sides, which takes about 1-2 minutes per side.

3-While the bread toasts, place the ricotta, heavy cream, and 1 tablespoon olive oil in a mixing bowl.

4-Whisk or use a spatula to beat the mixture until it becomes smooth, light, and fluffy. If itโ€™s too runny, add a bit more ricotta; if too thick, thin it with a little more cream.

5-Spoon or pipe the whipped ricotta generously over each toasted slice.

6-Drizzle a thin stream of olive oil over the topped toasts and finish with a pinch of flaky sea salt.

7-Serve immediately to enjoy that warm, savory-sweet goodness.

Notes

๐Ÿด Any firm, sliceable loaf works; sourdough or rustic country bread gives the best texture.
๐Ÿง‚ For a thicker spread, omit the heavy cream or reduce the olive oil.
โฑ๏ธ Keep liquids to a minimum to avoid soggy toast.
