๐ŸŒญ These classic pigs in a blanket are the perfect crowd-pleasing appetizer that’s incredibly easy to make and always disappears first at parties
๐Ÿฅ With just two simple ingredients and minimal prep time, you can create warm, flaky wrapped sausages that everyone will love

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 48 servings

Ingredients

– 48 cocktail-size smoked link sausages or hot dogs [the bite-size protein at the center of each piece]

– Two cans crescent rolls dough [pre-made dough that bakes into a flaky, golden wrapper]

Instructions

1-First Step: Preheat and arrange your oven. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Place one oven rack slightly below the middle and another slightly above the middle. Using two racks helps you bake a full batch evenly without crowding a single sheet.

2-Second Step: Prepare the dough. Unroll both cans of crescent dough and separate each into 16 triangles. Use a small knife or pizza cutter to cut each triangle lengthwise into 3 narrow triangles. Cutting each triangle into three narrow strips creates 48 wrappers for the cocktail sausages.

3-Third Step: Wrap the sausages. Place one sausage on the widest end of a dough triangle and roll it up toward the opposite point. Place the point side down on an ungreased cookie sheet. Repeat with all sausages and dough triangles, dividing them between two cookie sheets to ensure air can circulate while baking.

4-Fourth Step: Baking technique and timing. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown, rotating the cookie sheets halfway through between oven racks to ensure even browning. Rotate trays at the halfway point so those on the lower rack move up and vice versa. For best results use large, flat, rimless cookie sheets; if you only have rimmed pans, they will still work.

5-Final Step: Remove and serve. Remove immediately from the cookie sheet and serve warm. Offer a few dipping sauces like mustard, ketchup, BBQ sauce, or honey mustard. For a glossy finish, brush the tops with egg wash before baking. For a buttery flavor, brush with melted garlic butter after baking.
